‘For Real Madrid, there is no other choice than to win the Club World Cup,’ Kaka said. ‘Real Madrid have high expectations. In every competition they participate in, they expect to reach the final and lift the trophy.’

Kaka won the Club World Cup with AC Milan in 2007 after beating Boca Juniors in the final, before moving to Real Madrid from 2009 to 2013, and the 43-year-old has revealed he still feels a connection to Los Blancos.

‘I feel like a real Madridista,’ Kaka said, as he revealed he will be supporting Xavier Alonso’s side at the FIFA Club World Cup when the tournament kicks off in the middle of this month.

‘I hope Real Madrid can go as far as possible, reach the final and of course have the chance to win another trophy, make history again.’

Kaka also spoke about the four Brazilian clubs taking part in the tournament – Flamengo, Fluminense, Palmeiras and Botafogo – and how he was proud to see his hometown team compete in the tournament.
